We’ve been reporting on a possible Green Lantern sequel, and while its very realistic possibility, the flick will probably have a new director attached. Despite the big-budget superhero movie’s disappointing box office performance so far, Warner Bros. executives want still to find a way to make a sequel work. Bringing superheroes from its DC Comics unit to the big screen is a top priority for the studio, and executives believe that the problem with “Green Lantern” in what EXECUTION. . . concept not. Warner Brothers film group prez Jeff Robinov said, “We had a decent opening so we learned there is an audience … To go forward we need to make it a little edgier and darker with more emphasis on action.” While the execs aren ‘ t 100% percent sure of what the sequels storyline will be, one thing they DO know is that they want a new director. Apparently the studio was not impressed with the original’s director, Martin Campbell, then the director chair will most likely have a new last name engraved on it! So according to Robinov, the studio has “a solid script” for the Scarlet Speedster. The executive also remains interested in bringing DC heroes together for a movie “Justice League”.
